well reema, maybe it was a simple problem that could be fixed easily, like my problem.

lol but that little problem came back for me. this time however, i cant run explorer.exe. it freezes and the task manager wont respond... and when task manager fails, idk what to do. lol.

the My Computer folder is still there and i can search through my files, but like explorer.exe, i cant open anything. so this is through my dad's comp.

needless to say this is good enough for me to go to best buy and be like, "gimme a new comp, bitch." so idk.. i doubt that the situation will change.. so if it doesnt i wont be on ca that often, but sometimes on this site through school.

spark: under the warranty i have. if my comp has a hard drive failure four times (this is my fourth) then they'll let me get a new system.

eafd: what do u mean? price wise or within the specs? or something else..? i remember how much it was and i can recheck the specs and compare it with others. and i know that i get to pick it out.. so....

@gil, how long is ur warranty, and cuz if it's only 1 year, and u got 3 failures already in before a year, then just get a new comp.
and gil, DO NOT GET THET LAPTOP. dont get laptops at all, if ur gonna use them for gaming, but if u have no other option, then iguess ur stuck with the laptop. but anyways, the laptop u selected only has 1.73 ghz. That's extremely shitty, even though they try to captivate u with the 6 gb ram and 6gb hard drive. Ur gonna lag like shit with 1.73 ghz. the rest looks pretty promising, but i have just have a problem with that 1.73, unless u can customiz, which i dont think u can

the 1.73 GHZ core i7 has 4 cores + HT (hyperthreading), meaning to your computer, you have 8 cores.

also, the 1.73GHz core i7 has turbo boost up to 2.8 GHz, meaning that when your CPU is being used like mad it can speed up to handle the extra load.

wow 6 or 8 cores are completely unnecessary. You can have a quad core and ull be more than good to go,

it's four cores, but each core has hyperthreading, making it seem like it has 8 cores

the qosmio is a gaming laptop. i'm sure you'll like it, and your i5 proc has turbo boost up to 2.53 GHz, it's a really nice laptop (but only if you keep it chained to a desk).

if you need mobility, then the qosmio isn't a good idea.
