All the champs in dota are like stupidly OP from what i've watched.

I heard Dota 2 was free o_o is that true?

dota will be free when its released, its still in beta. Kinda hard to get a key though.

None of the champs are ridiculously OP. For each champ there is always several other champs that can counter the champ effectively. For example there's a champ that deals massive DPS when farmed up, but can be easily taken down by a team with stuns and disables. The only reason some champs seem OP is that the player knows what to do against the opponent. A good amount of time is spent into picking the champs that can counter the opposing champs

But if you're all gonna be countering, then no one would be able to pick champs o_o sounds interesting though. I might play Dota instead of LoL :p do they have a release date for it?

Sounds Complicated

Dunno how to explain it briefly, but sometimes a game is set just by the team composition and stuff. As for release date, I think its gonna be when they port all of the Dota 1 champs to Dota 2. dota 2 is essentially a remake of Dota 1, but with better graphics, mechanics, and all that. There are currently 90 or so of the 110 or so total champs, so it might be soon.

and LoL looks really poopy from what I've seen.

LoL is pretty much the same thing. In what we called "Ranked Games" there are 3 bans for each team that each team captain gets to choose. The team that bans first gets first pick. After that person picks, the first two members on the other team pick. then and switches back to the other two members on the team that got first pick.

yea similar to Dota. Each team has 5 bans, and if they're smart and quick, they can ban some of the counters to their picks.

The LoL competitive Scene is getting pretty big. it only started in Korea like a year ago and now it's liked more than Star craft.

the dota community has grown so much, even though the game is still in beta. Some of the early games in a competitive tourney get like 70k views, and the finals can get over 100k or so. Beautiful

During IPL 4, LoL got over 200k viewers.

LoL has the most players out of like all games. It's all the bandwagon I tell you I have a friend who played LoL before and went back to it recently and quit again because of the graphics change. Apparently it was due to people's computer being unable to handle LoL graphics or something? Whatever it was, it was enough to make him hate the game already :3

You actually can..because there's more people playing there's much more fun to it. Lots of people join a game only through their friends and whatever they hear from everyone else. LoL is extremely popular and has a lot of players, so obviously friends and others advertise it so much that they just feel like playing cause everyone else plays. Bandwagoning at its finest

I disagree that LoL is a bandwagon. At first my friend told me to play it. I didn't even bother looking into it at all for a long time. When he brought his laptop over to my house. I watched him play it and it wasn't interesting to me. Then i decided to try it out. It was quite fun i thought. So basically what im saying is that the person playing has to like it to continue playing the game. Even if i had friends asking me to play game, and i try it out and don't like it, i wouldn't even bother playing with them. LoL is just like any other game out there. Like D3 or WoW. I never even touched those games because if i played them i would have no idea what im doing and it would be boring and uninteresting.

Yeah I know what you're saying but if it wasn't popular and no one played it, no one would even know if they liked it or not. Sure you'd have to like it to continue playing, but if you never knew of the game, well...you know.

Word is getting around because it is popular. The majority of people can't possibly be playing is because everybody else is. it's just not logical. For example, OH YEAH time to go play that game i don't like just because my friends are playing it.

I didn't say majority is playing it because of that, but a good amount of people do play it because their friends play. What's the fun of playing a game when you don't like the people you play with? Shiet I just started playing the game and I'm playing it only cause my friends are playing. I still don't like the game
