extreme lag in ca today
as soon as i started up ca today, i lagged. the COMBAT ARMS = free fps gameplay = or whatever it said, loaded bit by bit, and the sound lagged with it. the dude running was running so slow it looked like he was running backwards. i'm not kidding. in the lobby it was the same, and in game.
never seen that before. so i uninstalled and reinstalled, and still the same story.
anyone have this problem? anyone on the nexon forums see anyone else complain about it? any suggestions as to what to do?
i'd still like to play ca once in a while.

The color is the from the "Thank You" button, you'll only get it if you post a new topic, but anyone who replies to it you can "thank"..
Now, as for that extreme lagg..is it happening only with CA? Do you have anything running in the background? line anti-virus, or any type of maintennace clean up programs?

Re: extreme lag in ca today
yeah, i had my anti virus up, but i made sure it doesnt do any scanning or updating while in game, so i dont really have any problems with it.

Re: extreme lag in ca today
hmmm...hows your internet speedtest check out?
If your getting the problem when your loading CA, it sounds like its the program tho..
If your running Win 7, then it will automatically have a weekly defrag and you don't have to worry about that, if not then maybe running a defrag?
To have the program just start doing that out of nowwhere is rare..was there any changes that u did to the system before hand? I'm thinking not tho..

http://www.speedtest.net/result/1476839390.png - i think that's good, right?
the only thing that really happened to my comp was the lack of internet from the power outages... but as far as i know, that shouldnt affect the program... i didn't change anything though.

Re: extreme lag in ca today
ur internet is great!...
if your running the combat arms direct, err..try running it in windows XP compatibility mode...
Another thing is if you have the combat arms direct on your desktop right-click and try the "run as admin" selection..
It "could" also be a sound driver or video driver problem...maybe try and uninstall and reinstall first your sound driver, then try it and if need to do the same for the video..

Re: extreme lag in ca today
hmm..okay..this will be a bit trickey..would you know how to find out what type of sound card and video card you have?
Go to this site and download this program it'll tell you what you have and also let you get the most updated drivers..
http://www.3dpchip.com/index_eng.html
download the "Latest 3DP Chip Download" it's a portable app so there's nothing to install just run the .exe, before you download the drivers, let me know what you have as a video card and sound card..

there were three devices for audio, and I'm not sure which one is the "sound card" so I'll just list all three...
ATi HDMI Audio - http://www.3dpchip.com/driver/sc59.html
Realtek HD Audio (ALC269) - http://www.3dpchip.com/driver/sc25.html
Unknown 80863B56 HD Audio - http://www.3dpchip.com/driver/sc56.html O_O

Re: extreme lag in ca today
Okay..your sound is the
Realtek audio...
the ATI HDMI audio should be part of your HDMI port..
Okay, so just do the update, it might be to hard to find the uninstall for the sound and video, so update your sound and try it, if not then try the video after..

Re: extreme lag in ca today
well in the device manager it appears that all of my stuff is up to date. I've said before I'm not a techie so idk if im looking in the right spot.
if i may ask, why would it be the sound that's not up to date? Why not the video? Uh for example, it lags when i have it maximized but when i have it minimized the sound plays fluently, suggesting that it runs smoothly when i'm it's not being displayed.
but uh, if i was doing the whole update thing right and i still lag, do you suggest uninstalling the drivers? hurrrrrrrshit

Re: extreme lag in ca today
It wouldn't be so much as the drivers not being updated as it might have gotten corrupted or something. So when you do the update the two plus factors are that it will reinstall/repair the bad driver and the second part is that any fixes or benefits that are added you'll get from the new update.
I usually recommend updating the sound first, only from experience as when unknown problem occur it seems to me to start out with the sound first.
But, if what your saying about the video max/min problem, could well be pointing to maybe something up with the video, so you could do the video first and see..
also, i'll be away from my computer for the next few hours till maybe around 5 or so my time..so i might not reply back till i get back..

Re: extreme lag in ca today
ok that's fine. i can go on a little more without ca. ha.
so yeah... it said that the video and sound were up to date. i dont know if they actually did anything or not. but i was able to play bfbc2game.exe earlier with no problems.
so is there another place where i could update the video and sound drivers besides the device manager in the control panel, because they said everything was fine, but im still getting the lag issue.
and if those aren't really worth it, and i should just go for the reinstall, where would i go to find them again and install them?
