Cali Proposition 19 :D

First of all.. i haven't been on the forum in a while.. so. HELLLOOOOOOOOOOO.
secondly i've heard alot of debate on this one, and if you didn't know about this bill in california it'd make the recreational use of marijuana in California legal, and it's on the ballot for the nov 2nd elections.
I really want to hear everyones opinions on this!
now i would just like to say im 100% for this. I mean cannabis can be used for 10000000000 other things than just making pot.. it can be used to make clothes, basically anything that involves fabrics, paper, . But of course many just look at the smoking side of it all so for thatttttt, of course the government will tax the hell out of it just like tobacco which could raise billions of dollars which is nice since are economy is still kinda in the shithole. Along with that why not make it legal? tobacco and alcohol are legal and both of those products kill 100,000s of people each year. It is proven you cannot overdose on marijuana. It is also proven that heavy drinking is more of a gateway to harder drugs than marijuana, for about every 102 people, 1 person will move on from pot to a hard drug. Most people will try pot a few times then just stop. Overall Marijuana is not even close to being as dangerous to things like alcohol, the only real side effects are laziness, hunger, and sometimes memory loss. haha.
But yeaaaahhhhh.

Well..legalizing it won't stop people from growing it or selling it. If it did become legal could you imagine walking into say Walmart/Kmart and seeing a marijuana kiosk? <----- noticed the red eyes..

how old is it supposedly gonna be sold at if they made it legal? they're probably gonna have the same issue with cigarettes and alcohol; fake ID's or others buying it for the underage kids. while it would help with the economy the school system might have have lower gpa's.. (??????) but yeah i agree it should be legalized..

I haven't read or heard anything on the age limit, but i believe it would be 18. and for the lower gpa's ill admit i smoke, not that much anymore but still occasionally, and i'm quite smart. unforunately some people just do it too much and let the laziness take over them, but basically that's just a reflection on the ideals of our newer generations... we're lazy. simply put.

Legalize it for it's reasons.

1) cancer patients
2) for clothes and so on
3) for the already addicted mother fkers.

Don't use marijuana for the following reasons
1) 2nd hand smoking (tobacco also)
2) the kids we don't want the youth to be in an environment like this

as for those last 2 things.
1)2nd hand smoke of tobacco is typically worse, there's a few ways to smoke without actually burning the marijuana
2)i'd slap you if i could. it's easier to find someone selling pot than someone that'd sell you alcohol or tobacco. and harder to get caught with i'd say. as of now at least.. and also funny thought i had, would you expect a stoner couple to abuse their kids or an alcoholic couple to abuse their kids?

also some new points ill throw out there. thousands of people each year are arrested each year for pot related charges, 90% of those people are arrested or fined for possession. Imagine if the cops could be doing something a little more productice? seeing as how the dea also spends millions of dollars every year in finding and catching these people. (im not saying i like hard drugs in that statement) I am saying in other countries where pot is legal they tend to have a much lower rate of people on harder drugs, along with lower criminal rates. It's exactly like the prohibition of alcohol.

still man... if u were a dad with 2 17 year old kids... would u want them to do weed? NO if cali legalizes it thats cool but they have to be VERY strict about it.

You wouldn't? When I was still a kid I bought cigarettes EASILY now if they legalize marijuana people will buy that instead of cigarettes

oh i thought u meant if i would smoke. no i wouldnt smoke. if i had a kid that got weed then.. idk. its not as dangerous as other stuff. id have to make sure they know what theyre doing. but u urself said that u smoked cigarettes. noob. so that means ur parents didnt pay that much attention to ur actions... yet ur saying that weed is bad. cigarettes are far worse.

It'll be as strict as alcohol and regulated to who an where it can be sold of course. it should be treated the same as tobacco and alcohol.
And it'll probably pass due to the fact people who dislike the prop think it will fail and typically they wont even vote at all.. but i'd imagine all the stoners are veryyyyy determined to get it to pass so theyll all vote.
