Guy beaten up by many people

So this video was posted on youtube, taken down, and downloaded by many others and spread around Facebook and everything. I knew the guy getting beaten up though not too personally but yeah, happened pretty close to me.

Holy shit, I watched that video a yesterday and it was brutal and heartbreaking. Do you know the story behind the assault?

Mmm somewhat. Usually these kinda things are just for like you know, your usual "revenge" shit. Neither side are really innocent but these guys were just stupid to record and put it up on youtube. So ya.

That's really brutal. The kid is lucky that he only suffered bruises and mild injuries. Usually that stuff leads to broken bones and head trauma considering that they were kicking him in the head

not to sound ... unsensitive... cuz rly, as someone who was bullied and beaten/atacked at younger age i can relate to his troubles... BUT ... being in a not very safe area like chicago ... he cant rly be walking alone... defenseless. in the video he apears to be a very skin boy. hit the jym, srsly. the weaker you look the harder they will hit! i know that from experience.

I wanted to feel sympathetic for that kid and hate the other guys, but it seems as this was a retaliation against some 20 or so other kids jumping two of the seven in that video.

I really hope that it wasn't a retaliation and it was pure bullying though.

No I'm sure it is a retaliation, though who started it is still unsure of because I've heard that the 20 to 2 only started after these guys started the fight so in the end it's still their fault.

Anyhow, what they did, whether or not in retaliation, is still wrong. The guy obviously didn't want to fight, either because he was being filmed (though it would've been self defense so it would've been okay anyways) or because he just didn't want to fight. There is no justice in taking up revenge; violence only begets violence. But, at least these guys were stupid enough to upload this video so they're the ones going to pay a fine and go to jail and everything.
