weird how only after a year, my comp is obsolete. i knew it would be considered crap with some time, but i didnt expect it so soon.

i mean, i played crysis two on this fine, and that was last year. :I

Ahh, that's my number one question when I talk to customers about their computers, "why is it old when I just bought it?" If they just use it for email and word processing they'd never have to buy another one..but alot of my customers want to stream videos from Netflix, watch Blue-Ray, Play intense FPS games, do remote desktop or just about anything and everything else besides email and word processing. Computers gets "old" after 6 months, the computer isn't "obsolete" until really 3-5 years old (depending on what your using the computer for). I explain to my customers the "dog years" analogy with computer age, for every one year of a dogs/computer like is equal to 7 human years. Computer/electronic technology advances so fast, if I'm not mistaken it is the fastest of all the "fields" that have so many upgrades and other new technology that comes out fast, even faster than the medical field.

But your processor and ram is still very, very good at par with mines! You should be still able to run and play the game..maybe not at MAX setting but something at little lower..If it worked before but now stopped then we need to look at a few other things..

Was the game loading at all, before you updated the video card? or was it after you installed the updated video driver, now it doesn't load the game at all? Let me look around and see about your video card and BF3..I had video card ATI Radeon HD 5770 with this system but changed it out to this Nvidia one.

i got it to load once before i did anything to my system. when i tried updating it, i eventually had to do a system restore because it f'd something up. so the drivers still arent updated and thus, it still doesnt work. but uh, just looking around some forums, others have the same problem as well, and they're all like,

"yeah i just reformatted my comp and i got it to work."

Are you still getting that part were it's hanging at the "joining server" part and its hanging? or is it doing something else?

it always continued on after the "joining server" notice. it just never took me anywhere. Like i know that there's supposed to be a window that pops up with the origin, but it never happens. It just x's out of itself before i ever see anything... essentially.

my firewall is down, my antivirus isnt blocking it.

DAM..I get the joining problem..

yea, I've been checking the forums too and one guy said that he just took the windows updates and that fixxed his problem..but so many different possibilities..

Another option you could try which is a long shot is maybe running game booster? Might be able to turn off whatever service or program might be stopping the game windows from loading fully...

I'm hoping things get worked out once the game comes out..

BUT, dam this game is fun!! I like getting more kills than death!!
